As the pace of our lives continues to escalate, we often find ourselves both exhausted and over stimulated. Our bodies need deep relaxation in order to restore balance to each organ system.
Reflexology is the science and art of applying pressure to specific points on the hands and feet to initiate the healing that our bodies were designed to do naturally.
Reflexology is just one of several modalities that promote relaxation, balance, and healing. Many people report that they appreciate the noninvasive aspects of the treatment, which is designed for your comfort and enjoyment throughout the session.
Consider yourself invited to experience what reflexology can offer as part of your total wellness program.
What Happens During a Reflexology Session?
You will be greeted with a soothing cup of herb tea to begin the relaxation process, as carefully selected music plays quietly in the background. I will inquire in-depth about your intentions for our session, your health history, and current lifestyle practices.
Once comfortably seated in the office, your feet are soaked in a warm bath that includes essential oils chosen specifically to address your needs. Next, your feet are exfoliated with a fragrant brown sugar scrub.
Before lying down on the massage table your hands are dipped in warm paraffin and then securely wrapped, bringing comfort to your bones and joints.
Several manual techniques are used to relax your feet and induce a restful state, maximizing the effects of the treatment. Reflex points on the feet are touched with varying pressure as you provide feedback to help me appropriately address those areas needing extra attention. All organs and systems of the body are stimulated during the hour long session, after which the paraffin is removed from your hands and they are treated to some relaxation techniques as well.
Organic oil is applied to massage the feet as the session draws to a close. Finally, we conference about your experience and I make any appropriate recommendations to improve both your health and comfort.
